Zongmiao Liu

Hi! My name is Zongmiao Liu, please call me ZZ, and I am a Ph.D. student in Lehigh University's College of Education. My research focuses on how generative AI can promote students' self-regulated learning, emotional engagement, and parental involvement—especially international students' mental well-being.
I hold a B.A. in Psychological Science from the University of Connecticut and an M.S.Ed. in International Teaching & Global Leadership from Johns Hopkins University. The past few years have been spent taking part in cross-disciplinary education and research innovation projects, speaking at conferences on topics relating to education, AI, and student mental health.
I believe learning is not so much knowledge transmission—it's about creating empathy, growth, and connection. Through my work, I hope to connect the world of research and practice, and create learning spaces that enable students and families to become self-efficacious agents of their own learning.
