Our Research & Initiatives

Our research focuses on emotional factors in learning, AI-enhanced simulations, and AI literacy development in K-12 students. Using advanced methods such as facial expression analysis and physiological measurements, we investigate how students engage with and apply STEM concepts.

K-12 AI Literacy

AI literacy is crucial today as AI becomes more prevalent across many industries and aspects of life. Having a basic understanding of what AI is, how it works, and its capabilities and limitations allows people to better navigate and critically analyze the AI systems they encounter.

Renewable Energy Design

Training future engineers in renewable energy is vital for sustainable development, yet many students struggle with engineering design due to stress and fear of failure. Working with the Institute for Future Intelligence, we integrate Aladdin - a simulation-based learning environment where students tackle energy efficiency challenges.
